The Belonging
Project
The Belonging Project is Peaceful Prisons Project’s peer support program designed for individuals navigating mental health challenges, substance use recovery, trauma, and reentry after incarceration. Led by trained peer specialists with lived experience, the program focuses on building stability, strengthening community connection, and helping participants develop practical tools for long-term wellbeing. Through one-on-one mentorship, goal setting, and community-based support, participants receive guidance from people who understand the journey firsthand. Individuals interested in participating can speak with their county CCS case manager to request Peaceful Prisons Project as their peer support provider and learn how to enroll in services.
