Megan Büchel

Megan is the social media manager of Peaceful Prison Project. Her background in higher education focuses includes visual art, psychology, underserved education, ethic studies, and issues surrounding immigration, migration, and identity. While pursuing her educational career, Megan worked for several nonprofits dedicated to uplifting and fighting for the rights of underserved communities both at the community and state level; these populations include but are not exclusive to Indigenous, internally displaced, formerly sex trafficked, and asylum-seeking persons. It was through serving these communities that Megan was first exposed to the inequity of the carceral system, and she is grateful to continue work in bringing these injustices to light. In her free time, Megan focuses on spiritual, energetic, sound, and nature therapy to help trauma-exposed bodies find release and healing.
